A Breath (Moffat Beach)

Contained by a curved sandy dune,
And then meeting the sky in a straight line.
Holding the emperors of the horizon
Like bobbing cities far away.
Azure and sapphire,
Emerald and jade,
All intermingled, layered and stacked.
Collapsing into frothy bubbles
She reaches out her hand,
Receding with sand in her grasp.
A gentle crescendo and decrescendo,
Like a delicate sigh
Breathing in and out.
