Born through the hardships of dirt, you sluggishly ascend
Your beauty, undeniable, un-definable
Luscious vegetation, manifesting towards the heavens
The wrench of gravity not sufficient enough
To yield you back to the magnificence of earth’s depths
Reaching for the golden orb of the suns hearth
Suspended, unreachable for the slaves of the blue planet

Wrenched from the crust of earths floor, ripped from the roots
The significance of your form misplaced
Someplace where understanding is displaced and departed
Your formula only known, by the chefs of the universes kitchen
Across inconceivable lands you travel
As far as the migration of mother-natures creatures

On foreign soil you arrive, unknown laws you now abide
Your unique perfection enjoyed by all, but not understood by any
The taste, mysterious, unidentifiable yet elegant and exquisite
Able to instil bliss in all, the young and old, male or female
The moisture within a god given beverage
Cooked in every method imaginable, all techniques made fashionable
By the entity, that sits below the radar, its length and width a traitor

They call you the edible tree
There in the field you stand, still standing
You haven’t moved, sophistication and grace abused
By a race that will never understand, that you are a one-man band
You are powerful enough to rule the world without moving a muscle
Without moving a branch, I should say

Your roots buried within my heritage
Grown through the generations of a family dedicated
To the wellbeing and security of your class
But in the end, the ignorance of society got the better of you
And you were trampled, neglected
Gone forever
