A Glass Throne

My kingdom is ash, fire and flame,
No one is left that knows my name
A city of dust and broken souls,
No one is left to fix these holes

A heart of glass, a tattered gown,
A queen wearing a paper crown
I look to my side, but all that’s there-
Swirling smoke and murky air

Upon my knees, I’m screaming out,
All alone, no one hears my shout
Trapped inside my own mind,
Leaving my ruined dreams behind.

When no one’s left to love you,
I find paper and some glue
I put together my paper crown
And I stand up.
