Young, fierce athletes running across the court
A basketball in their hands wanting their dreams to come true
Sizes, shades and ages of all sort
10 on court after one shoots, everyone looks at the ball go through!
Dreaming of being in the NBA taking flights
Instead of soft drinks they reach for the water
And as they say from a young age "ball is life"
Parents are proud to call them their sons and daughters
Hurting ankles as they step back to take the three point shot
Teammates on court with their hand up waiting for the ball
The offender lets the ball slip out of their hand as if it was hot
Off to the teammate the ball flies, higher than a double decker hall
Benchwarmers cheering from the side
Making their hometown full of joy and pride
