We’re sitting in the exact same spot
You hold me in your arms the way you always did.
It’s wooden and stiff now and I don’t feel us anymore
It doesn’t feel like what it used to.
I remember the rush of falling in love with you
I used to be secure in the warmth of it.
But now the emotions you hold are all wrong
I can’t get back to what we used to be.
We catch the metro home in the early hours
I rest my head on your shoulder but you pull away.
It’s not the same as it used to be long ago -
I miss the way that we used to fit together.
One day maybe I’ll come back to these same spots
But it’ll be without you and I’ll be on my own
I can’t stay here anymore, I can’t love you anymore
We’re too far gone from who we used to be.
