A Broken Land

The cool blue water cascading down the brown rocky cliff,
Quenching the desperate thirst of dying life,
Calming, as it rushes through rivers and streams.
A secret cove beneath the green canopy
Of wistful white spray, as the toppling water touches the rough ledges
Beauty in its purest form.
Oh, how life flourishes!
Both flora and fauna, breathing together in harmony
Where nothing made of man disturbs the peace.
But then, the groan of machinery bursts through the trees,
Like a roaring lion on the run,
As birds and creatures fly from danger.
Oh, the hunger of humans!
As destruction is nigh,
For lands of trees and forests,
Disappear before our eye.
