Quiet (excerpt)

The hallways were quiet, and there was nothing to deny it
I walked into a room, with my fear in full bloom
My smile began to break, with the terror I could not shake
The class was still, as my voice became shrill
With nothing to do, the teacher came through.
Preconception of who I was to other students became clear
Laughing and giggling was so severe,
That it changed the whole atmosphere

The hallways were quiet, and there was nothing to deny it.
The class was a mess, and I became obsessed
With the way I looked, the way I talked, and who I was meant to be
My misperception motivated me,
to be someone that I was not meant to be
