Peace, Brother

No words are left to describe the pain I feel today,
As an old man sat in the House of God- a sanctuary of love,
With his hands lifted in prayer and his heart full of serenity,
At the doorstep he saw you with your hands around his destiny,
He welcomed you to the place where all are welcome,
And he greeted you with the words of Eternal Humanity- Peace brother!
The last words to leave his lips.
Oh what sin of his offended you so much,
That you took to rob his life- have you no soul?
And what about the girl who sat in her dad’s lap- in warmth and security,
Who now fights for her life thousands of miles from home,
These souls are guilty of nothing but a faith declaration.
Though your actions have left painful scars- you will never be a success,
For every step of division you take,
We will take ten towards unity,
And I’ve only got two words to say to you- peace, brother.
