Their lives span a single breath
Overshadowed by a capital I, they, we or it.
Yet in their absence, all action would be left in suspense.
Have they something else to say? Or must laws unseen bar the way?
What of Caught. Tired of being called ‘Catched’.
Asked. Hesitant to intrude where it is not welcome.
Gave. Running low on things to offer.
Could. Pondering chances missed and ‘what ifs’ uncharted.
Did Listen ever yearn to be heard? Did Spoke long to think instead?
A glimpse into their reveries, but likely they will never be
Free to choose what they express, leaving the rest of us to only guess
