Lest We Forget

Years ago, World War 1 began.
Many soldiers believe they can.
Fight in war but not return.
What would happen to their families, their hearts would burn.
Many lost in sorrow, never returning to light.
Knowing that one family member lost the fight.
Not only on the battlefield but, for life.
Some with many things to come,
Too young to go.
Some fought with pride.
Some with fear but, with a stride.
We remember those people today.
With hope we pray,
Lest we forget.
