Fading Hope

The wintry breeze sets in,
Frost on the grass.
I let it stroke my face,
Not knowing my fate.

The flowers begin to blossom,
A short sanctuary,
But a sullen reminder,
Of the vanishing time.

I watch the leaves change colour,
The foliage fading.
Summer arrives,
The weather annulling my fate.

In the hospital I lay awake,
The test results confirming my doubt.
I despair as my consciousness fades,
But find my final solace in the sun.
