Gently it drifts down into the ocean
Like a falling leaf in slow motion
It seems so harmless but it’s not
Cruelly killing without a thought
Disguised as a jellyfish it glides around
Choking innocent sea life without a sound
Ominously it lurks all day and night
It yearns to smother, strangle and fight
A menacing spectre haunting the sea
Created by people like you and me
Fuelled by our addiction, its numbers multiply
While idly we sit and turn a blind eye
Time is of the essence we must unite and act quick
Humankind, I implore you, to give plastic bags the flick!
