You Said You Cared

It started when I was young,
When I was as free as can be,
You would poke out your tongue,
I would jump around with glee,
Eventually I saw a different side of you,
I never thought I would ever see,
I still stuck to you like glue,
But I really wanted to flee,
You scared me day in,
You scared me day out,
Feels like you punched me in the chin,
I ended up with so much doubt,
I was afraid to speak up,
Too scared to cry,
I slowly turned away,
And now all I say is goodbye.
