I’m casting off old memories,
And I’m abandoning old pains.
I’m leaving behind all that was.
I’m beginning life again.
I’m peeling back old layers,
And I’m shedding my old skin;
Revealing the newborn image beneath
That has lain in slumber within.
I’m spreading my new eagle-wings
As I’m risen from the past;
Reborn like a phoenix from the flame,
Recalled to begin its new task.
I’m walking down my chosen path
And I’m striding round the bend.
Who knows where life will take me now,
But I’ll trust in myself till the end.
