It's weird, the way it sneaks up on you like that,
It stalks you for days
Out of nowhere, it jumps out to surprise you.
Grief’s writhing tentacles envelop my heart
It’s all your fault, you left without a note
And threw me no life buoy
You never got your gold coin from the tooth fairy
nor your 1st bike
nor did you stay to celebrate your 6th birthday
But for the loneliness in the deep trenches of the seas
You are probably waltzing with the stars now
Leaving me in this lonely world
Wondering why it happened
Leaving me to drown
I know I will not live forever
And you certainly didn’t.
