As the darkest light of the day fades, a new fear of lost hope begins.
The ear piercing silence as Jack springs from his box,
And the harsh touch of air as it whistles through the locks.
As the darkest light of the day fades, the chill of the night makes me shake.
The night starts crawling with foully made creatures,
Hiding under my bed like homework from my teacher.
As the darkest light of the day fades, the happiness and sorrow starts to trade.
The dancing shadows of demons stealing my bedtime prayers,
Replacing them with unforgettable fears and nightmares.
And yet when the darkest light of the day fades and my parents come to stay,
All the scary things seem to dye away
Maybe next time I shouldn’t be so afraid.
