I am from where the soil never grows
Where the sun scorches the sand
Soldiers that scar your back with whips
Where limestone is deep and buried
Where you pull stone and mine for hours.
I am from the desert of slavery and pain
Where pharaohs built temples
And the river flows and floods
Boats rowed to destroy and conquer.
I am from where pyramids stand tall
Gold smelted and jewels glitter
Where sandstorms rule
And the great gods watch over.
I am from ancient Egypt
