Hello fair-weather twin, how are you?
You are so dark and silent,
Is there something you wish to say?
Or do you never stop talking and we just ignore you?
Are you frustrated, you have after all,
Been banned from the one thing you try to get.
You seek the light, and yet you will never find it.
No, we steal your light, our twin of perpetual darkness.
You are a copy-cat, a mime acting out the world you see.
You grow with us, and yet are only seen in the warmth,
Abandoning us in the dark expanses of winter,
Dancing a half-lived life.
You hold our phantom roses,
You entwine with the leaves on the ground.
A fair-weather twin, parasitic in nature,
A close friend in reality.
