BEACH HUMPY
Crash went the waves as they collided with the shore like breaking trees on a busy road.
The old rusty, tin roof looks like an abandoned shed left to rot.
Thick shaggy bushes lie like tired lions surrounding the humpy.
The leaves lick the humpy’s sun bleached, driftwood walls like green paint.
The dirt floor brings an icy touch like walking on ice cubes as it sifts between your toes.
Through the gaps in the walls the wind is like an arctic dragon whipping you with its tail.
The rain is coming down on the tin roof with grace, beating out a song, a pattern and a tune with the way it falls.
Suddenly the roof falls silent.
The humpy is left damp, cold, lonely and forgotten.
