Soldiers in battle, all young and old
dead and alive may their stories be told
men with true hearts and families too
the land laden red but a sky gleaming blue
a horrid sick smell of blood in the air
the guns of war causing death so unfair
death of these people what a ghastly sight
but there’s love in war, for their country they'll fight
from years of tanks and a country's feud
it's finally over and no more intrudes
for now there is a battle fighting no more
may we honour the soldiers who walked through death's door
lest we forget
