Finalist in the 'Inspired 2019' competition

“Kicking drills!” yells the coach,
fourteen legs start booting high.
The players get into groups.
Balls start flying through the sky.
Siren sounds; ball up!
Players begin to scramble.
Bodies jumping from the thrill.
Coach screaming “C’mon team don’t amble!”
Our tackler approaches like a train,
he flattens the opposition.
The crowd goes roaring wild
at the sight of competition.
Near the end, its twenty-five all
the butterflies start in me.
I mark it, line up, boot it long,
high fives all round – VICTORY!
