Back To School

I wake up, to find my tummy in a knot,
So I start to plan a sneaky plot,
The first day back at school,
Always seems to be so cruel,
I pretend to have a fever that makes me baking hot.
Summer holiday feels like a lifetime ago,
I pretend I've eaten too much cookie dough,
I tell mum, "I feel sick, I feel sick!"
Maybe she will fall for my trick,
And grant me my wish to just lay low.
I try my very best to protest,
But Mum says she always knows best,
So, here I am going off to school,
Wait! Is that my friend from Liverpool?!?
"Bye mum!" I say, "Have a Great day!"
I run up to my friend and say, "Hooray it's back to school today!"
