After Drought

With cattle wondering week
The old dried up stag net creek
Why make us suffer in drought?
As my life is now in doubt
My hands are worn out and cracked
From the blistering hot sun impact
Old red dog is by my side
Slouching over with no pride
Rumbling in the distance
With mother Earths assistance
As now the rain is tumbling down
I hope that we don’t all drown.
