Stars and Shadow dip and sway
Across the water’s Faberge
Surface smooth as looking glass,
Edges lapping emerald grass.
Glacial Wind sighs through the night,
A lilting song of day’s delight.
Weaving tales of shimmering gold,
Light and warmth and more untold,
Wind bewitches Stars’ bright soul;
Shadow too is held in thrall.
Yearning daylight's bright embrace,
Blind are they to night’s fair face.
But, as always, Wind soars on,
Leaving only evanescent song.
So, Stars and Shadow dance once more,
In night's hushed beauty ‘till wind’s next call.
