Hidden below the dipping gully,
afraid to be exposed to the world,
shame of their dwelling.
Rusted, tin frames and cracked walls,
the suffering of being hidden for too long.
Tools are abandoned and thrown across the grass,
rusted and old, as if needed in the past.
Smoke billowing shame, screeching as if it was haunted, yearning for love, needed elsewhere.
Their dwelling….an angry cannonball, yet still dormant,
waiting no more.
