O, to be young and puerile! Mother told me not to peer but
A serendipitous glance is all it took, my dear
Boiled blood and a stomach of insects
Jacket of fine corduroy lured my interest
My heart does fashion an extraordinary love
Until my dear, you removed your glove
Gosh, is that a wedding band?
Placed upon the knuckle of your left hand
There she is, by your arm the whole time
A stare so ghastly one may call it a crime
I am simply enraged, we can’t have that
Her attraction to you is the plague to a rat
She doesn’t love you, say whispers on the gale
I’ve a devious plan that cannot fail
I’ll slip her some tea, a baneful homebrew
Now we may love, sweet boy. Endless and true.
