You Are My Daffodil

You are my daffodil; you are the sunshine in the rain.
You make my Christmas rose; you are the weight I gain
I love your variegated tulip; shining with marigold petals,
The forget-me-nots and dead leaves…
Give me jonquils, and I will give you tulips-
But you took my white lily…and my tiger lily...
And left alone little, broken me; without leaving a sweat pea...
Instead you left me with a bouquet of withered flowers…
Give me red poppies and mistletoes!
Give me pine as I am a primrose!
I don't care if you played with my heart and mind!
Because you are the only one I could find...
Fate has made a toll on me,
But I'm willing to follow for you, then to flee...
But the most important of all-
You are my rotting daffodil...
