Pull the olive from its branch and it'll tell you of it's past
Of the bombings that it saw
Of the shooters that killed fast
Pull the orange from its tree and it'll tell you what it's seen
Of the blood running free
Of the grass no longer green
Scoop the soil from the ground and it'll tell you what it's heard
Of the innocent's chilling screams
Of how much the people have hurt
Look around on the streets and tell me what you see
Do you see posters of martyrs
Do you see the lonely orphans
I look around on the streets and I'll tell you what I see
I see happiness gleaming, laughter erupting, hope gleaming
Hope for a day
That an olive, an orange, and soil will have something different to say
