Broome is a desert, a rusty expanse of plains
Of fearsome storms and flooding rains
A place in my heart, it remains
You call it desert- we used to live there
The soft white pearly sands
Though the rough fingertips of my orange dust stained hands
The smiling golden sun giving us a tan
You call it desert- we used to live there
Across Cable beach camels proudly walk
We have a picnic by the yellow sunset to drink and talk
This is better than Japan, Italy or even New York!
You call it desert- we used to live there
I stare at the shining stars in the wide night sky
I yawn loud as a tiger, I start to close my heavy eyes
Where ever I may be, this is where my soul lies
You call it desert- we used to live there
