There is a flower that I love,
In summer it will bear,
Its little face will awake,
And bring joy to all who seek and stare.
Its golden petals beam with light, and dance throughout the dark black night,
Its big green leaves, those mean machines, will grow and grow ‘til no-one sees.
Its jet black seeds, what joy they bring,
To all the little birds that sing,
Honey sweet the bees do make,
The working bee we call our mate.
It’s tall green stem towers in the sky, above all other flowers,
It really is a pretty sight, this golden petaled flower.
So will you go high and low,
The adventure will you dare?
For somewhere in the golden sun,
The sunflower awaits you there.
