A Dark Age

My home was no more. The ashes of what was my home withered away into the mist. It went up in flames as tears trembled down my back. I quivered in fear just having enough strength to remember the beauty that was lost. My most loved past her time with my dull heart running cold. My depression was extreme, this torture is real, it all has past in a destroying way. As my stomach starts to feint in starvation I point my eyes in a direction scouring the floors for crumbs. The raging flames rolled over the mountains just missing where I weeped with blood leaving a trail. This fire is relentless; it keeps picking up my fear as it goes on with its journey ahead. The wind starts whispering through the woods giving some courage to not give up and keep on going. My heart pounds as my eyes pounce at what looks to be a new home and a new start. My nerves start to rack up as I approach this farm. As I start to regret the choice that I've made, one of the sliding doors opens. It’s pitch black. The sunlight of a small window navigates me through the darkness of dusty, old shed. I feel cold stones, frightening me as I look down to what was left of me. I start to discover the chills that are running across my spine with a touch of butterflies to add to my stomach. The clouds start to dance as the fires miss the farm making this new home a good one. The walls were cracked and the windows were smashed. This place suddenly starts to become somewhere that I shouldn't stay and keep on with my journey. A few moments later something catches my eye and courage leads me to whatever it was. I turn a corner with my head going faster. I thought I was going crazy and it was a figure of my imagination but then I saw it. One of my very own species had escaped to this place calling it his home. My stomach was ravenous but I thought I could hold and get a better glimpse at one of my relatives. I cautiously strolled closer and closer not making a sound, I was thinking to myself “what will happen and how will he/her react?” This animal was in arms reach when it rolled to my feet with the
Tongue outside. I then realize that I am not alone, there is something still out there.
