A Heartbeat's Song

A heart beat thumps but not for long
A beat, a melody, the words to a song
A smile all can share, a hope that won’t fade
Swears on our hearts and promises made
Time ticks by and won’t ever stop
We shouldn’t waste years just looking at clocks
There’s so much to see, things to do
Adventures all around us, all for you
Why wait for tomorrow, when you can live life today
Tell them the things you’ve wanted to say
Because your heart beat beats every second of your life
The time we waste can’t be lived through twice
And even if that clock ticks and drives you mad
We should always appreciate what makes us glad
Because life is short, but if you give it a thought
It’s the longest thing we live through, and all that we’ve got.
