One small word
The heart bubbles and froths, still clenching its tiny fist
Its little face is contorted with fury
Eyebrows bunch together, and a dark crimson color spreads across the sky
The heart’s face is in the dark, but for a second, I think I see… a smile?
Slowly but surely, it opens up its tiny claw-like fingers
As the last of the sun’s beautiful and pale rays sink below the horizon,
I see a flicker of hope-
A softened heart.
It is blooming, loud and full
All after one small word
Sorry.
