ONE MORE TIME
In a world where we should be safe, why would another take that away?
Every kid deserves a childhood, not a lifetime full of pain,
A family divided, and a mindset that they’re to blame,
For the actions of another, who chose to show no shame.
In a world where trust is not given but earned,
Nothing can be done once those bridges are burned.
The love you once held so dear to your heart,
Has now faded quietly, into the dark.
In a world where family is such a key part,
It hurts me that yours is falling apart,
Giving no respite from a day full of dread,
Your mind like a whirlwind as you climb into bed,
After a day full of torment, despair and of tears,
The devil plays his songs like music to your ears.
I pretend that I don’t miss you, I pretend that I’m fine,
But I wish I could have hugged you, just one more time.
