Oh, If I Could Be A Dog

Oh, if I could be a dog
and just lay on the deck
while my owner does his school work
and someone rubs my neck.
But my owner could play basketball
when we go to the park
while the only thing that I could do
is run around and bark.
And back at home for dinner
there’d be gross dog food in my bowl
while my owner eats a pizza
and plays on his console.
Actually, I don’t want to be a dog
I’ll stay a boy instead
and rather than laying on the deck
I’d have a comfy bed.
