My name is James Denson
My name is Sarah Fae
Recently we’ve lost someone we love
I was angry about it, drowned my sorrows and problems with drinks
I couldn’t stop crying she was all I had left
We were both involved in a horrific car accident
I was unharmed and ran from the scene in terror
Whilst I broke my spine and watched my daughter die before me
It was 10:00pm on the main bridge
I was drunk my memory is foggy
I can recall her screaming for me, the memory plays on repeat in my mind
We both feel uncontrollably guilty
I shouldn’t have been going so fast and I should have driven sober
It should have been me, I can’t let the driver get away
I killed a young girl
I killed the drunk driver
We’re not monsters. We’re just broken.
