Finalist in the 'The Write Note 2021' competition
Havoc lays on the canvas,
Colours overlap one another,
Moulding a convoluted mess,
Paint is his lover,
The man’s hand flies endlessly,
Performing pirouettes and more,
Abstract expressionist in his prime,
Onlookers admire but explore,
He finds solace in his drink,
To stop is too much to ask,
Searching for happiness,
At the bottom of his glass,
As his health grew poor,
Temptation became his master,
His hand and his mind as one:
The beauty of disaster.
