I am a girl
I wonder how it feels to be a boy
I hear voices in my head
I see them turn away in shame
I want them to accept me
I am a girl

I pretend to be someone I’m not
I feel strange and hurt
I touch tears streaming down
I worry they’ll love me not
I cry in fear of their thoughts
I am a girl

I understand I was born a girl
I say the truth
I dream they’ll love the same
I try to open up about this
I hope you understand
I am not a girl
