Up in a box, all by themselves,
Are poor odd socks- up on that shelf.
Some are long and stripy, some are short and smooth,
But each one hopes, one day they’ll move…
Back in that drawer, they once so loved-
Not in this box, where they’re all shoved!
Sometimes a lady comes along,
And grabs one out, and sings a song-
‘Oh My! I’ve found your friend today, so in that box, no need to stay.
But some never get a chance, they don’t even bet on her second glance!
And so they sit, and they wait, and they yearn-
For their matching partner to return.
But lucky for them, and to their surprise-
One day a boy finds them, and he gives them all EYES!
So now they are not only socks, all for one,
But puppets to play with, and that’s WAY MORE FUN!!!
