“Mirror, mirror, on the wall,”
They chant through day and night.
Endless do their voices drone, drowning in their thrall.
But they will never hear me, for I am neither here nor there.
And neither will they see me, for if they do, then they are doomed to fall,
“Who’s the fairest of them all? When will the truth tell all?”
But what a mirror does not show, will always creep into the light.
See me then, or see me now, but ever a different mask.
My heart, my soul, they’re bound up tight, within this mirror bright.
Ask me then, or ask me now, but I will never share.
The secrets deep inside of me, forever taint my soul.
But you will see me here and now, for I am hidden in your despair.
Now breathe me in, and breathe me out,
Like I was never there.
