Amongst the tranquil Poppy fields, lays a peaceful corpse,
With the bloodstained sword he wields, comes but silence and remorse.
Gravestone after gravestone, the souls of those he loved,
Disappeared and swept away, to a sanctuary up above.
Silence is not the only sound, ringing through his ears,
The lives for which he’d stolen, beg for him to disappear.
His dreams now grim and guilty,
A killer, a ruthless thief,
Of lives from those with families,
Who have faced unbearable grief.
Every freedom swept away, to love, to fight, to disobey.
The gold metal badge laid on his chest, his bloodstained heart, deeply suppressed.
But finally, with the freedom to rest.
