MEMORIES
Sometimes I sit down and remember
Those days back before December
The change is so dire
The city I once called home
Is as lifeless as a bone
The spire I once admired
Now engulfed in fire
The people who were my friends
Are not here in the end
I miss those times of white picket fences
And sweet lemonade
My memories are beginning to fade
But I must let go of the past
For no one is going to ask if I’m okay
For these are not those days
I must prepare myself for future pains
