Parallel Worlds

Hi, my name is Emily; I use to live in a place far from glee
Playing on dirty, old, rusty tanks
Hopping around on frail wooden planks
Childhood memories don’t seem so bad
Even roving noisy planes didn’t make me sad
Then one day mama said, ‘we must evacuate
For they are invading through the city gate’
Fear and anxiety as we await an unknown place
I see manicured green gardens, picket fences; a neighbourly race
Papa has come to join us now
No more riffles, gunfire; pow pow pow!
Now my life is as normal as can be
Hi, my name is Emily
I live in a place surrounded by sea
Seesaws, playgrounds and bike tracks
A parallel world we live in; I wonder will I ever go back?
