In my time I’ve seen things that many of my age would never dream of,
Eventful, my life has been, and horrid many of its ventures.
I realise that for many, it is an awful place, filled with a looming void,
An abyss of no escape.
I, and many others have been there, I have seen into its blackened eye.
It’s scary, it really is.
And I have seen it too often to regard it as an enemy.
But there is more, there is always more.
Take It from me, for I have seen its reach, I have seen its work.
I have had to make the call.
And for all this time I have to say, forever and always.
It gets better.
