Battling the Darkness

Desperate, wanting – failing to become.
Searching, seeking – can not find.
Trying, attempting – still won’t achieve
Constantly getting wrong – only me.

Pen and paper, ear and mouth – I’m still ignored.
Standing alone, among so many – I’m invisible.
Pushed past, tumbling down – yet no feeling.
You don’t see me – so I’m not here?

Shadows of soul, silhouettes of thought – I fade
Darkness in the sun, sadness in the light – I’m falling
It overpowers, it burns inside – pulling me away
I can’t go on – but I must

Determination, fight – you won’t win!
Becoming, seeing – the end draws closer.
Hoping, continuing – courage will be victorious
I will make it through - as a winner, or loser.
