bouncy brown curls
cascade down my spine
losing my shoes
dancing past twelve

pumpkins and pearls
the mice that can talk
sleeping for years
cannot lift the curse

secrets unfurled
the spindle of death
collecting trinkets
where people walk

tritons and tails
the evil octopi
the beast and the beauty
a shrivelling rose
