A black blanket was cast over the sky
the sun darkened and yielded to the moon
shadows ruled for the next twelve hours
many say the moon is made of cheese
but my friend is no common dairy product
my friend may have a rough appearance
but has a beautiful soul
you just have to see with your eyes closed
look closer than a telescope
be smaller than an ant
and mightier than a giant
open your eyes to the night
she will show you the world in a glimpse
you just have to see with your eyes closed
