happiness, a blade
a light full of hope
an escape from the shadows
poison to cope

breath of fresh air
sweet sugar on lips
like crows, we brag
and take little nips

cries of the deceased
they had their fair share
vines strangle the neck
sad truth to bare

we all suffer in the dark
death of the spark of life
