Excellence Award in the 'Play On Words 2021' competition
I paint the lushest flowers,
which hold the past secrets of ours.
I paint the sky in its glory blue,
to bring out its once natural hue.
And I paint the smiles on the miserable mortals,
for they shall now be happy forever.
I paint to cover up the truth,
to distract the reality from your youth.
In each colour, each shade and each tone,
I paint the tales of the now unknown.
My canvas is my eyes,
which see the world, hidden in its disguise.
I can paint a new story,
one now full of consolatory.
As this is my form of hope.
The only way I have learnt to cope.
