A small creature hiding in my shadow, slender legs carrying it in the dark
Splashing in a puddle ever so shallow, ready to make its mark
I see the tiny, feeble creature emerging from the gloom
As its pointed head stares at me warily It scuttles around my bathroom
The sneaky little rodent hid inside the shower
I ripped the glass door open with all of my power
My legs struggled to move and they almost gave out
As the rat sprung from hiding I started to shout
The grey blur flashed in front of my eyes, I gave out two consecutive cries
The rat seemed to be oddly vicious, I started to get suspicious
I look into its eyes a deep, empty void, my arms reached for the poison
The rat started to look slightly annoyed
One spray and the pest fell, it gave off a nauseating smell
I was unaware of its last trick, as I reached out the rat gave a good kick
Blood trickled down my side, the pest squeaked with pride
This cut wasn’t my worst by far, but I knew this injury was sure to leave a scar
